HungerFREE activists in Nigeria joined Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo to launch the HungerFREE campaign at the university of Jos in North Central Nigeria.The actress spoke at the HungerFREE Planet event which featured home grown music and comedy talent and encouraged hundreds of students to send plate messages to the United Nations demanding action on hunger.
“I do not know if you have eaten today, but I know that seven out of every ten children in my area of this country do not eat well.”
Obo Effanga, coordinator of HungerFREE activists in Nigeria explained that the campaign is a part of a global youth movement fighting in ten countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to end hunger.
“We want to tell the whole world that there is so much hunger in the world today. We are hungry and we are angry. This situation is unacceptable,” Effanga told the crowd.
